So I went home sick. I'm logged into work right now trying to finish some stuff up.
Got a call about Joy's car. We dropped it off at the dealership last night. The transmission is shot.
So somebody is getting a new car. Not sure who yet.
Re: Really?
Wow, sounds like a crappy day being sick and the needing a new car part. I mean getting a new car can be exciting but not when you weren't planning on getting it. At least the week is half way over. How many days until your next cruise?
It's only a $1600 car part....
9!!!
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
That really sucks. You are just not having very good luck with cars lately!
I hope you at least feel better before your cruise!
Actually, my cars work fine for the most part. They were both bought brand new.
Her car was bought at a car auction and was only supposed to last her a year. Unfortunately (in terms of the car), that plan sorta got altered when she met me. So she's been here longer than planned. I've been somewhat questioning the maintenance history on the car and am slowly being proven right.
Currently looking at three options:
1) Fix her car. $1k-2.6k.
2) Buy her a new/slightly used car. $10k-25k.
3) Give her my car (a 2008 Impala) and I get something new.
Right now she's driving my mom's car. Not going to decide anything until we're both feeling better and she's had time to mull it over.
I don't think that I would fix her car... but it is a lot cheaper. I wish you luck with the decision. And I can't believe that your cruise is this soon!
I hope you feel better too!
It isn't my intent to fix it. I listed it as an option, but it's not one that I'd really prefer to pursue. I've been pouring way too much money into this car. I don't think it was well taken care of before she got it and we've been paying the price for it since.
8 more days! At least if the cruise ship breaks down, I don't have to fix it.
As long as it doesn't sink, it can break down all it wants. I won't complain about extra time on the ship.
